Cancer care at home
Compassionate, practical help and companionship across Hull, Beverley & East Yorkshire – so you don’t have to face cancer alone.

A cancer diagnosis affects not only the person living with it, but also their loved ones. At Sirius Homecare, we provide gentle, non‑medical cancer care support at home across Hull and the East Riding, helping people live with dignity and comfort in the place they know best – their own home.
We’re here to support both the individual and their family, offering day‑to‑day help that eases the burden, aids recovery and makes space for what truly matters.
Non‑medical care you can trust
Our trained care professionals provide practical and personal assistance with empathy, discretion and kindness. While we are not nurses and do not provide clinical or medical care, we work alongside healthcare professionals such as district nurses, Macmillan teams and GPs to ensure a joined‑up approach.
We support people:
-
During and after cancer treatment
-
In recovery, helping with prescribed routines and rebuilding confidence
-
Living with ongoing symptoms such as fatigue, reduced appetite or mobility challenges
-
Receiving palliative or end‑of‑life care, focusing on comfort and dignity
Our cancer home care services in Hull & East Riding include:
-
Personal care — washing, dressing, bathing, grooming and toileting
-
Meal preparation and hydration support, tailored to appetite and energy levels
-
Light domestic help — laundry, tidying, cleaning, changing beds
-
Companionship — a listening ear, conversation, games, reading, or gentle walks
-
Support with prescribed exercises or physio routines (as directed by your clinical team)
-
Assistance getting in/out of bed and moving safely around the home
-
Transport to hospital appointments or help with shopping and errands
-
Support for family carers - respite visits so loved ones can rest
-
Flexible care visits - from two hours a week to multiple daily visits or 24/7 care
Whether you need a little extra help in the mornings, encouragement after treatment, or 24/7 care to maintain quality of life, we’re here to help.

What we don’t do (and why)
To keep you safe, our service is strictly non‑medical. That means we don’t:
-
Administer medication via syringe drivers, injections or IVs
-
Carry out wound care, check vital signs or any invasive procedures
-
Make changes to prescribed medication or medical plans
These tasks must be done by qualified clinicians. We work alongside them to ensure your comfort, safety and dignity at home.
The importance of companionship
Cancer is hard to face alone. Our carers don’t just provide practical help — they bring time, patience and company. Having someone to share a cup of tea, talk through a difficult day or enjoy a pastime with can make a world of difference.
Support for family and loved ones
Caring for someone with cancer can be exhausting. We provide respite visits so family members can take a break - confident their loved one is safe, supported and not alone.
