If you’ve never needed care or support before, it can feel confusing and even overwhelming trying to choose a provider, understand the costs, and decide how best to pay for your care.
At Sirius Homecare, we believe in being open and transparent about how home care costs work. Every care package is priced individually to match your exact needs - but we know people like to have a rough idea of what to expect before they call.
That’s why we’ve created this simple guide to the average hourly cost of home care in Hull, Beverley and East Yorkshire, what influences those prices, and some examples of what different care budgets might provide.

Across Hull and East Yorkshire, typical self-funded (private) home care rates now range between £33 and £40 per hour, depending on:

Why home care costs what it does
Quality home care involves far more than the time spent in your home. The hourly rate covers:
-
Professional carers’ pay and travel time – fair wages for every visit
-
Comprehensive training – including safeguarding, medication awareness, and safe moving & handling
-
Supervision and management – regular reviews, care planning and family communication
-
Insurance and CQC compliance – protecting clients and staff
-
Holiday, pension and sick pay – ensuring carers are supported and retained
-
24-hour support and on-call management – for emergencies and peace of mind
Rising costs across the sector reflect increases in the National Living Wage, NI contributions and training standards. Investing in these areas ensures that you receive safe, consistent care from a well-supported team.
